South, Central and West CSU is a leading provider of commissioning support services

GO Procurement Finalist BadgeWe collaborate with customers and partners across the health and social care system to manage, analyse, and improve performance and enable our customers to achieve the best possible outcomes for their patients and populations.

Our customers include NHS England, clinical commissioning groups, provider trusts, general practices, and numerous social care, community care, and voluntary sector organisations.

We provide localised support across the south of England (covering 10,800 square miles and a population of 10 million people), as well as running national and regional development programmes.

Our organisation has been formed as  the result of a merger on 1 April 2015 between South, Central Southern, and South West Commissioning Support Units. This extends the range of services we can offer customers and increases the flexibility and cost-effectiveness of our solutions.

We are proud to say we have been shortlisted for the Enhancing Care by Sharing Data and Information category at the 2015 Health Service Journal (HSJ) Awards. We are the only Commissioning Support Unit on the whole HSJ Awards shortlist

SCW's review of the year – 2015-2016

"On behalf of NHS South, Central and West Commissioning Support Unit (SCW), we are pleased to present our first annual report.

We set ourselves a challenge for our first year of operation, with just 365 days to make a name for ourselves, prove our resilience, improve our ability to perform and face challenging demands from our customers, and all whilst working within a highly competitive marketplace.

During our first year we have successfully merged three organisations, defined our vision and values, improved our service infrastructure, and worked hard to support both our people and our customers with the challenges they
have faced.

We put patient care at the heart of our culture whilst developing innovative solutions which support our customers to deliver the best possible outcomes and contributions towards the overall improvement of the health and
care sector.

We can now look forwards confidently to year two, working to build on our strong foundations whilst continuously improving our service offer, investing into our people, and our future growth.

Here’s a summary of our highlights from the SCW journey so far and what’s made us proud."
