For the first time, SCW partnered with the King's Fund to deliver
an online panel session on 10 March 2021. During the ‘Patient and user engagement in the delivery of virtual care’ webinar we explored what we can learn from the way changes during COVID-19 have affected the provision of health and care and the move to developing a person-centred approach.
The session obviously struck a chord with our audience, We had almost 2,500 people who registered to join the event, with 57% (1,400) joining us live. More than 200 questions or comments were received through the accompanying Slido app before and during the session.
Panel members discussed how some of the new technologies were making a difference in people's lives and shared examples of how people were being helped to access the support they need in the community.
A key lesson that all panellists strongly advocated was the importance of not making assumptions about what people want, need, and can use when it comes to technology.
Participating in the discussion were:
- Tara Donnelly, Chief Digital Officer, NHSX
- Marco Francis, Technology Enabled Care Lead, Bristol City Council
- Graham Wilkinson, Service User·
- Preeti Mehta, Senior Project Manager, Digital Transformation, SCW
- David Maguire, Senior Analyst, The King's Fund
If you weren’t able to join the session or would like to watch again, there’s still time to hear the discussion. The event is available on-demand for another month. Feel free to share the link with anyone you think might have an interest.
