Procurement team awarded with Health Care Supply Association Awards 2017

We're delighted to learn we have won the Health Care Supply Association (HCSA) Excellence in Health and Social Care Commissioning Award 2017.

The award recognises the work of SCW’s Procurement Team for successfully delivering a highly complex and innovative integrated community health and social care procurement on behalf of NHS Bath and North East Somerset CCG and Bath and North East Somerset Council.

Integrated health and care services had not traditionally been tendered, so the Your Care, Your Way programme was hugely innovative and brave, being the largest community-based healthcare procurement of its type at the time and with an annual contract value of £700m.

The Procurement Team provided a significant volume and breadth of support over an intense 18 month period. This included market assessments, supporting the extensive engagement process, and working with the CCG and Local Authority to develop an all-encompassing procurement plan, and of course managing the end to end procurement of the complex system of services. The evaluation processes, chaired by the Procurement Team, included an evaluator pool of 70 individuals – including approximately 20 service users or carers. Evaluation took place over three iterative stages of a negotiated process, culminating in a contract award that took place in late 2016 and new services commencing in April 2017.

Faye Robinson, Director of Procurement at SCW praised the team for their dedication and hard work to deliver for our customer: “A really well done to the team and from Michael our MD “Absolutely amazing, well done!”. I am immensely proud of everyone in our team who consistently demonstrate a high level of professionalism and hard work. Being recognised by our peers in this way showcases our ability to a national audience. So thanks to each and every one of you.”
