SCW honoured for excellence in procurement

Winning result for our procurement team at the national Government Opportunities Awards.

We are delighted to announce that SCW has been awarded both the Government Opportunities Procurement Innovation / Initiative of the Year Award and the Government Opportunities Procurement Team of the Year Award at this year's UK National GO Awards Excellence in Public Procurement Awards held in Manchester on 24 April.

The awards are highly regarded across the public, private and third sectors, and the benchmark by which procurement excellence is measured in the UK, so a major achievement for SCW and a recognition of the work being delivered by our team and partners.

The GO Procurement Team of the Year Award recognises the work delivered in partnership with NHS England (South) and the Office of Police and Crime Commissioners (OPCCs), and Avon & Somerset, Devon & Cornwall, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire police, in recognition of our work on the recommissioning of Sexual Assault Referral Centres (SARCs) in order to standardise and improve access to services for victims of sexual assault across the South West.

The Procurement Innovation/Initiative of the Year award was achieved in recognition of work supporting Bath and North East Somerset on their groundbreaking Your Care Your Way programme, procuring integrated community health and care services.

Faye Robinson, Director of Procurement, said:
“I’m so proud of the team – to win two awards in one night is an incredible achievement.”

Grahame Steed, Chair of the UK National GO Awards Judging Panel said:
“The UK National GO Awards have showcased the depth of innovation, creativity and commitment in place across the country’s procurement community. The judging panel were impressed with the quality and variety of the submissions, which clearly demonstrate the UK’s growth in this area. All of the finalists – whether public, private or third sector – are to be commended for their outstanding work.”
