‘Population Health Analytics: Turning intelligence into action’

SCW’s Associate Solution Lead, Chris Morris is to speak at the Johns Hopkins ACG System 8th London Symposium, to be held on Thursday 11 April 2019 at the Royal Society of Medicine. 

The focus for this event will be Population Health Analytics: Turning intelligence into action’ and will feature several prominent speakers from NHS England, STPs, CCG and CSUs. Keynote speakers at the symposium will be Ming Tang, Director for Data, Analysis and Intelligence Service, NHS England and Dr Jim O’Donnell, GP Partner and the locality lead for Slough within East Berkshire CCG.

The topics being discussed include:

1.      How population health analytics is vital to the delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan and the role of important methodologies such as segmentation

2.      How predictive models and other markers in a care record can assist with activities to find cases and ensure the right patients are matched to the right care programmes

3.      How case mix adjustment methodology is being used to account for differences in disease burden between different CCGs or different GP practices when evaluating performance, and looking for opportunities for improvement

4.      Case studies showcasing how new care-models have been developed as a result of intelligence derived from population health analytics and the impact these new approaches are having on costs and activity

5.      Highlights of the new features in the latest version of the ACG system software due for release later this year
