SCW awarded Cyber Essentials accreditation in recognition of security measures in place for our customers

We’re delighted to announce, with thanks to some excellent work by our IT Services team, SCW has achieved the Cyber Essentials Accreditation. Here's why, and what it means for our customers.

Robust, reliable technology is key for any organisation. And with cyber-attacks targeting the NHS which can result in significant disruption, providing robust, reliable preventative measures for our customers is at the top of our agenda.

We’re delighted to announce that thanks to some excellent work by our IT Services team, SCW has achieved the Cyber Essentials Accreditation. This government-backed and industry-supported scheme – which is primarily concerned with protecting businesses from common cyber threats – is mandated for all CSUs by NHS England and SCW is only the second to achieve the accreditation.

The accreditation has been awarded as a result of demonstrating to customers and new prospects that we have taken precautionary steps to reduce cyber risks internally and that these steps have been independently verified by a governing body

Andy Ferrari, Associate Director of IT Strategy and Planning, said: “I’m delighted that we’ve achieved this accreditation and in doing so have really put SCW ahead of the curve in terms of taking real steps to protect ourselves and our customers. The hard work for IT Services continues as we work towards the next step, which is gaining Cyber Essentials Plus, an extra guarantee of the quality of our services.”
