Taking you to our leaders

Here, key members of our leadership team share their expertise and how they are supporting work for our customers.

Janet Horton-thumb

Janet Horton, Executive Director of Customer Development

Janet's expertise lies in strategy development and business growth. She has worked in the NHS, local government, the civil service and at large commercial organisations. Having joined SCW nine months ago, Janet oversees the development of SCW’s business and reputation, developing relationships with senior stakeholders across the industry and ensuring our services respond to customer requirements and changes in the marketplace.

She says: “This is a challenging time for our customers as they face financial and political uncertainty, increasing demand for their services and diminishing resources. I am here to help SCW support our customers and to grow our own organisation and capabilities.”

Jo Newton SMALL

Jo Newton, Executive Director of Business Services

Jo has worked extensively across the NHS on commissioning and provider boards, overseeing strategic and transformational change across the health and local government sectors. Her early career was in pharmaceutical marketing and operations, while her recent portfolio work has combined chair roles and running her own consultancy. Jo joined SCW eight months ago and provides strategic leadership to the services we provide in provider management, financial services, information technology, business intelligence, human resources and organisational development, communications and engagement, governance, and procurement.

She says: “We have a key role in improving patient experience through aligning business services with our customer delivery focus and I am excited by the prospect of harnessing the skill base of our people in achieving that goal.”

We also welcome John O’Connell to SCW, Director of Business Intelligence.

John joined us in May and oversees delivery of the INSIGHTS toolkit and ensuring quality of BI service delivery and product developments.

Having started his career in the NHS, where he held several performance and planning roles in commissioning and provider organisations, he more recently worked in the private sector with companies such as Dr. Foster, Capita (CHKS) and the British Medical Journal in commercial, clinical and sales roles to build BI solutions for customers.
