South, Central and West is delighted to have been nominated as finalists in two categories of the National Government Opportunities (GO) Excellence in Public Procurement Awards 2016/17. The categories are ‘Innovation or Initiative of the Year Award – Health and Social Care Organisations’, and ‘Team of the Year Award – Health and Social Care Organisations’.

We are absolutely delighted at this recognition as the level of competition for this year’s awards was at its most competitive yet, with many high-profile organisations from across the UK submitting an entry. Although we won’t find out if we are winners until 8 March, we are proud to achieve finalist status, which itself is a great commendation for our procurement activity.

The National GO Awards 2016/17 will be held on Tuesday 8 March on the evening of Procurex North Live 2016.

Now in their 16th year, the National GO Awards are the benchmark by which progress in this multibillion-pound sector is measured.

Grahame Steed, Managing Editor of Government Opportunities and lead judge for the GO Awards, said, “We moved this year’s ceremony to the Hilton Manchester Deansgate to accommodate the huge and growing interest in the National GO Awards. As you can see from this year’s finalists, this move has been justified with entries from many of the most high-profile organisations in the UK. The UK sets the standard for procurement excellence around the world, so it’s great to see so many organisations’ procurement teams willing to test themselves against the UK’s best. The UK’s Day of Procurement on Tuesday 8 March is going to be hotly contested!”
