Public Health Action - Behaviour change

Public Health Action is SCW’s team of behaviour change experts who focus on prevention, health education, and patient engagement and activation.

Our holistic approach improves people’s health through a unique combination of social marketing and public health expertise to facilitate change.

The team provides access to learning gained from collaborative commissioning by local authorities. We provide at-scale, evidence-based public health prevention programmes aimed at supporting and enabling the delivery of effective prevention initiatives for, and with, their communities.

With significant experience in using behaviour change techniques and digital enablers to support self-care, Public Health Action provides a unique skill set to deliver programmes on patient activation, engagement and empowerment.

We use our knowledge and experience in social marketing and behaviour change to offer evidence-based approaches. This could be through using digital innovation to increase exercise among staff groups, reducing smoking levels, or raising awareness of the dangers of drinking above recommended levels.

We help you with the following:

Behaviour change insight and theory

Bringing together a combination of social marketing and insight skills to help you achieve your goals and better understand your target audience to help strategy development.

Social marketing interventions

Using an evidence-based social marketing approach we can identify behaviour change ‘triggers’ and identify appropriate social marketing interventions.

Campaign development and delivery

Our approach is person-focused, ensuring social marketing campaign development, testing, delivery and evaluation are meaningful and effective.

An integrated healthy lifestyle approach

We bring behaviour change expertise into an integrated healthy lifestyle approach. We understand how important it is to engage stakeholders, communities and manage partnerships to achieve joined-up care.
